🚀 FX Live Trade Vol. 16: 【Disappointing Loss】Battle at the Peak & An Unexpected System Glitch

I would like to share the results of our 16th "FX Live Trade" session.

To get straight to the point, our short (sell) strategy unfortunately resulted in a failure this time, forcing us to close the position for a loss.

We targeted a trend reversal (the market ceiling) at the ultra-high price level of 160.851 JPY. However, the upward momentum of the market refused to stop, moving directly against our expectations. While it is a disappointing outcome, accepting individual losses is an essential part of algorithmic trading. We will calmly analyze the data from this trade and apply it to our next session!

⚠️ Behind the Scenes: A "System Glitch" That Forced a Manual Close

Actually, aside from the technical stop-loss rationale, a specific operational "glitch" occurred within our platform management, which forced me to perform an emergency manual close.

【Root Cause of the Glitch】

Over the weekend, while keeping our automated trading program running, I re-logged into the MT4 account. Consequently, the "Allow Automated Trading" setting on the MT4 platform was inadvertently dropped (switched off).

Due to this, the system failed to execute the automated close, which triggered an error on the log. Fortunately, I managed to intervene and close the order manually to prevent further impact, but this served as a highly valuable lesson for running a proprietary trading system.

I am currently evaluating a new feature to prevent this issue in the future: an automated check and alert display for the 'Allow Automated Trading' status. We are committed to turning this pinch into an opportunity to upgrade our system to be even more robust. Stay tuned for future updates!
